The Ingalls family leave the Big Woods of Wiconsin and move west. A long journeu tales them to the endless grasslands of Kansas, where Pa builds a log cabin, digs a well and starts to farm the land. They meed cowboys and survive a prairie fire, but their new life comes to a sudden end whien the area is made an Indian reservation, and the family again pack up and leave.
This classic tale of pioneer life on the frontier is based on the adventures of Lauras familu in the 1870s.
